Armathwaite Spa Pregnancy Massage

Time spent at Armathwaite Spa is the perfect way to relax if you are expecting. We have a range of facilities to enjoy during your pregnancy spa day, from our 16m infinity pool and facials to gentle touch therapy and so much more.

If you are looking to feel truly pampered, try our pregnancy massage experience: New Beginnings.

Our New Beginnings experience

We begin with a gentle, full-body pregnancy massage that is specifically designed to care for your body. Our therapists will soothe sore, aching muscles to ensure both you and your baby are safe, calm and relaxed.

Your treatment also includes a face and scalp massage, to leave your skin feeling silky soft.

At no point during the experience will you be required to lie on your tummy – we structure the massage around your bump.

Pregnancy-safe spa treatment FAQs

Can you go to the spa when pregnant?

Of course, you can still enjoy spa treatments when pregnant! Our spa therapists will be happy to direct you to experiences that are safe for your stage of pregnancy.

If you are looking to treat a mum-to-be, our gift vouchers are the perfect present. Give the gift of a prenatal massage or relaxing facial to ensure she feels pampered during her pregnancy.

What spa treatments are safe during pregnancy?

Our New Beginnings experience is specifically developed to be safe during pregnancy, calming for both mother and baby.

You can also enjoy a revitalising facial – like our My Kinda Skin facial – soothing foot massage or gentle touch therapy, all carried out using organic, pregnancy-safe products .

What spa facilities can I use when pregnant?

You can still use plenty of our spa facilities while pregnant – take a refreshing dip in our 16m infinity pool, embrace calm on our Tranquillity Terrace or enjoy some me-time in our hush relaxation room.

We recommend that you avoid the sauna, steam room, hot tub and hydrotherapy pool, as well as hot stone massages, while pregnant. This is due to the intense heat raising the risk of overheating, dehydration and fainting, especially within the first 12 weeks of your pregnancy.

Also, little is known about the overall safety of these treatments during pregnancy – therefore, they are best avoided.

Deep tissue massages, CBD treatments and visits to our aroma room are also not recommended, as the stronger massage techniques and products used may not be suitable for your baby.
